Which Railblaza Mount Do I Need?
Birdboss can be connected to a selection of genuine RAILBLAZA mounts using the Birdboss RAILBLAZA StarPort Adaptor Base (BRAB). This guide will help you choose the right mount for where you want to install Birdboss.
What you need
- A Birdboss unit
- The Birdboss RAILBLAZA StarPort Adaptor Base (BRAB)
- A RAILBLAZA mount to suit your boat or installation – choose from the options below
Each item is sold separately unless specifically advertised as a package. Every mount below has a built-in StarPort socket: BRAB clicks in and turns to lock, and lifts out in seconds when you want to remove Birdboss.
Boat rails
Measure the outside diameter of your rail, then choose:
- RailMount 19–25 mm – round or square rails from 19 to 25 mm
- Pontoon Boat RailMount 28–32 mm – 28 mm and 32 mm rails
- RailMount 32–41 mm – round or square 32 mm rails and round rails up to 41 mm
All three clamp on with no drilling. Birdboss also makes its own Rail Clamps in 25 mm, 34 mm and 50 mm.
Biminis
- Bimini Rail Mount – clamps to round bimini tube of 19, 22 or 25 mm, or square tube of 28 or 32 mm, with no drilling
- Clevis/Bimini Support Pair – if your bimini struts sit in StarPort mounts, the clevis lets the same StarPort hold your bimini while you’re out and Birdboss while you’re away
Birdboss’s own Sandbag and Tie Down Disk Combo is another option for biminis and covers without a suitable frame.
Pontoons and jetties
- Pontoon Boat RailMount 28–32 mm – for handrails of 28–32 mm
- StarPort or StarPort HD – a permanent, low-profile mounting point screwed to decking or a flat surface
- Titan Grip Suction Mount – for short-term use on smooth, non-porous surfaces
Inflatable boats and RIBs
- RIBPort including StarPort and 3M VHB – a large 115 x 150 mm adhesive base that spreads the load across the tube or deck. Our first choice for inflatables.
- QuikPort with VHB – a smaller, low-profile adhesive mount for lighter-duty or sheltered positions
Please contact us before fitting an adhesive mount to Hypalon/CSM or other specialist inflatable fabrics.
Flat horizontal or vertical surfaces
- StarPort – surface or flush mount, screwed in place; includes a cap and gasket for when Birdboss is removed
- StarPort HD – heavy-duty four-point base that matches many existing Scotty, RAM and Cannon hole patterns
- RIBPort or QuikPort – adhesive options for smooth surfaces where you don’t want to drill
Temporary installations
- Titan Grip Suction Mount – tool-free suction mount for smooth surfaces. Check the seal before leaving the boat; for long-term unattended use choose a fixed or clamp-on mount.
- Any of the clamp-on RailMounts or the Bimini Rail Mount – easily removed from the rail when no longer needed
Installations where drilling is not desirable
These mounts need no drilling:

Can Birdboss connect to Railblaza?
Yes. The Birdboss RAILBLAZA StarPort Adaptor Base – BRAB connects Birdboss to a range of compatible Railblaza mounting products. This gives customers additional options for rails, pontoons, biminis, inflatable boats, RIBs and flat surfaces. BRAB, the Birdboss unit and the selected Railblaza mount are sold separately unless specifically offered as a package.
Can Birdboss be removed while the boat is being used?
Yes. With a Railblaza mount, Birdboss simply turns and lifts out of the StarPort, leaving the low-profile mount in position. It can be clicked back in when the boat is left unattended.
I already have Railblaza mounts on my boat. Can I use them?
Yes – BRAB fits any RAILBLAZA StarPort mount. Make sure the mount is in a position where the Birdboss arms can rotate freely and is securely fixed to a sound surface.
